Many different media to choose from...
I decided in third grade to be an artist when I grew up, and have spent my entire life working on just that. I spent 30 years teaching Art within the public school system, while I continued to perfect my own work and experimentations. I am always willing to try something new and certainly am not a purist for any one media.
If you ask my family, they might tell you that watercolor is my preferred media, as I probably find the most control and satisfaction in it. However, I love so many different media, including oils, pastel, stained glass, ceramics, sculpture, and many more.
I will share my work in this site, so you may see that variety and depth of each type of work I do. Art is not for the faint-hearted.
For the most part, I find inspiration for my work in nature. My Dad took me camping for the first time, when I was about six, and I fell in love with the Great Outdoors. Space, Texture, Highlights, and Shadows: these are the things that I notice most and try to incorporate into my work. I think it's why I keep going back again and again to ceramics. I need the touchy-feel essence of clay...
